RUSE date a trick after all, release moved to June 8 09 March 2010 at 10:30 pm by admin

R.U.S.E. is quite a crafty game. It turns out that the recently revealed June 3 release date was nothing but a smoke screen for the real date.

Yesterday, Ubisoft claimed that its controversial (and f*cking retarded) DRM servers were down due to what it called “exceptional demand.” Not only was that comment insulting to anybody with a brain, it’s also been revealed as a bare-faced lie. Yesterday, Ubisoft claimed that its controversial (and f*cking retarded) DRM servers were down due to what it called “exceptional demand.” Not only was that comment insulting to anybody with a brain, it’s also been revealed as a bare-faced lie. Ubisoft has since commented that the DRM servers were attacked. “Apologies to anyone who couldn’t play ACII or SH5 yesterday,” explains the publisher’s Twitter , clearly having not yet received the PR memo. ”Servers were attacked which limited service from 2:30pm to 9pm Paris time.” It would appear that naughty Internet thugs, possibly disgruntled PC gamers who were protesting against Ubi’s shady DRM, initiated a DOS attack on the servers

+ Facepalm: Ubisoft DRM servers bork, downing Ubi PC games By admin 07 March 2010 at 2:47 pm and have No Comments

When confronted with the prospect of Ubisoft’s horrific DRM system , which requires PC players to never ever be offline ever , a distressing amount of people shrugged and went “Eh, I have good internet anyway.” Well, it seems that Ubisoft itself didn’t have very good internet – not in Europe, at least – as its authentication servers went down at around 8AM GMT, kicking some players off their Assassin’s Creed 2 sessions and subjecting others trying to come online to lengthy log-in waits or frequent timeouts. A Ubisoft UK representative, “Ubi.Vigil” responded to the immediate (and justified) forum conflagration by calling the outages “unacceptable, particularly as [I have] been told [that] these servers are constantly monitored.” A later status update stated: Due to exceptional demand, we are currently experiencing difficulties with the Online Service Platform

Michael Ironside is like one of those dudes you respect so much, he could show up at your house, eat the last of your Nilla Wafers, break your Solid Snake figurine collection while tracking mud all over the house and you’d still love him afterward.

+ Splinter Cell: Conviction, future Ubisoft PC games to use internet-based DRM By admin 01 March 2010 at 3:00 pm and have No Comments

Assassin’s Creed 2 has yet to even arrive on PC, but ever since PC Gamer got an early hands-on with the final retail version, Ubisoft’s … somewhat cumbersome (to be very polite) internet-based DRM has caused a bit of a worry for some gamers.
