PlayStation Blog posted a developer diary featuring Zindagi Games, developer of the PlayStation Move minigame showcase Sports Champions . The devs demonstrate the abilities of the Move controller, showing lots of game footage and demonstrations of controller motions.

Click for the gallery of Champions You might think it derisive to call Sports Champions (working title) the Wii Sports of PlayStation Move , but it’s really intended as a compliment. Although the collection of sports-themed games are relatively simple, they adequately highlight the Move’s motion-sensing capabilities and, most importantly, how they’re distinguished from those offered by the Wii (something that another Move game, The Shoot , did not do)

Brett Favre is one of the all-time greats. Still, he throws one untimely interception, and that’s all people talk about. Just image if he threw 7 and a half million! That’s the number EA highlighted during its EA Sports Opener last night in an extraordinary example of the game data the company collects from its players.

At its GDC press conference today, Sony revealed two PlayStation Move game collections, Sports Champions and Move Party .  Sports Champions (working title) looks to be a sports-style game collection.

EA Sports’ “Season Opener” event at GDC contained one major announcement for the developer’s bevy of franchises: EA Sports Active will receive the sequel treatment this Fall with EA Sports Active 2.0 (working title), an updated version of the exergame for the PS3, Wii, iPhone and iPod Touch platforms. The console versions of the game will come equipped with two motion sensors and a heart rate monitor the player can strap to their arms and legs. User information in this new game can be shared over an online social network, allowing fellow players to keep track of how frequently you’ve been skipping out on your demanding workout regimen.

If Ryan Kesler’s name sounds familiar to you, then you’re either a fan of hockey (perhaps specifically, of the Vancouver Canucks), or you watched the USA hockey team make their way to a silver medal in the 2010 Winter Olympics last month. (Or both!) Well, if you plan on picking up 2K Sports’  NHL 2K11  when it launches exclusively for the Wii this fall, then you’ll become very familiar with Kesler’s face as well as his name — he’s the cover athlete for the game.
