While we’ve yet to meet those amongst you reppin’ Farmville and swearing allegiance to Facebook, we worry that today’s announcement of MySpace making a stronger push into the casual gaming market may stir those folks from their dismal, musty resting places. Alongside a revamped and relaunched gaming section on the site (the “MySpace Games Gallery”), co-president Mike Jones told GamesIndustry.biz that the company plans on pushing into the gaming world in the same way it’s pushed into the music world. “Just as they use MySpace to discover and listen to music, I want them to use MySpace to discover and play games,” he said in an interview this week

You have probably heard that Tokyo Game Show was a bit disappointing this year; that the number of attendees was down, there were no big announcements, and some companies were missing from the floor. All this is true, but in one way this year’s show surpassed all others. A lone bright spot that showed the world that Japan is not only still on its game, but towers over the world when it comes to one thing. Yes, I’m referring to the hotness of the booth companions.

If you’re excited about the upcoming Star Wars: The Old Republic , you may have a chance to get your hands on the MMO early — Shacknews is reporting that beta signups are now open. The process sounds fairly standard: fill out your information, upload a DxDiag file, and sit around and wait hoping that you’re chosen to participate. LucasArts has said that there will be a limited amount of people accepted (big surprise), and that the earlier you sign up, the better your chances are of being chosen.

Tokyo Games Show has already revealed a Final Fantasy XIII –branded PlayStation 3 , a few new screenshots from Final Fantasy Versus XIII , and a new trailer for Final Fantasy XIV ; and here’s a hot-off-the-presses trailer for the Wii-exclusive Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers , for your viewing pleasure

The Wii may finally be enjoying a price cut in the US and Japan, but everybody knows that Nintendo has a hard-on for screwing Europe over and so no price cuts are coming to the PAL territories. However, by way of compensation, Nintendo has instead announced a sneaky faux-price drop — it’s lowering the trade price after raising it earlier this year.
