+ The Joystiq Indie Pitch: Blackish Games By admin 09 March 2010 at 5:20 pm and have No Comments

Being a giant, beloved video game blog has its downsides. For example, we sometimes neglect to give independent developers our coverage love (or loverage, if you will) as we get caught up in AAA, AAAA or the rare quintuple-A titles. To remedy that, we’re giving indies the chance to create their own loverage and sell you, the fans, on their studios and products

Besides being great news for indies, it also means that you’ll be able to use your gamertag and Avatar on the phone, as well as unlock Xbox Live Achievements

+ Hunt ghosts in the new Sims 3 Ambitions trailer By admin 09 March 2010 at 3:30 am and have No Comments

There’s really only one important thing to take away from the new trailer for The Sims 3 Ambitions expansion . The expansion allows players to extend the lives of their sims, endowing them with many different career options, including inventor, fireman or a detective. None of that is important, though.

+ Dead Space 2 contest calls for creative dismemberments By admin 08 March 2010 at 8:30 pm and have No Comments

Those of us who have played the first Dead Space can probably agree that there were some bitchin’ dismemberments throughout Isaac Clarke’s journey to disengage the U.S.S. Ishimura’s parking brake or whatever.

Kyle Gray and Kyle Gabler, of Henry Hatsworth and World of Goo fame, respectively, have formed a new studio, along with Experimental Gameplay Project co-founder Allan Blomquist. + Codemasters’ new FPS, Bodycount, announced briefly By admin 08 March 2010 at 9:40 am and have No Comments

Codemasters’ new FPS from Black creator Stuart Black has been revealed by OXM UK — and then promptly unrevealed, when the article was taken down. Bodycount is not based on Ice-T’s metal band Body Count, because the world couldn’t possibly be that beautiful. + NintendoWare Weekly: Final Fantasy II, Max & the Magic Marker By admin 08 March 2010 at 9:10 am and have No Comments

Sure, you could play Final Fantasy XIII on PS3 and Xbox 360 this week, but you could also buy a Final Fantasy game whose quality isn’t under any debate — partly because it’s really good, and partly because Final Fantasy II for SNES was released in 1991 and the debate has pretty much elapsed by now. Or you could bypass that whole Final Fantasy thing and play a cute game about a kid and his amazing drawing ability.
