In early 2009, Centerscore co-founder Oliver Miao was assigned an extremely daunting task. His studio had recently been acquired by EA Mobile, and his higher-ups had requested an iPhone version of the studio’s successful teen-dating sim series, Surviving High School . The difficulty didn’t come in developing the title, but rather, in monetizing it

I know you can buy the game for yourself and play it to make your own purchase decision. We were planning on running a hands-on preview of Street Fighter IV iPhone, but Capcom went and released it before we could finish at a party we were attending last night.

Steph Thirion, creator of the early iPhone standout Eliss , has a new game on the way, from a new company. The first game to be released by Thirion’s studio, Little-Eyes, will be Faraway , a project Thiron says “will be about constellations and infinite space travel.” Faraway will be on display at the Kokoromi Gamma IV event tomorrow, and should also be playable at the Gamma IV showcase during GDC .

The Red Star never had its chance to reach an audience. Originally in development by Acclaim for Xbox, the game was delayed when Acclaim ceased to exist, and didn’t make it into stores until 2007 (well after the PS3 launch), when XS Games published the PS2 version to generally positive (and occasionally effusive) reviews

The Red Star to shine on PSP and iPhone this spring
Good news everyone! The Red Star , that cult PS2 shooter/brawler that sold three copies, has been given a second chance at success, this time as a downloadable portable offering. XS Games has announced that The Red Star will be hitting the PSP and iPhone sometime in Spring 2010

Though we all got a first eyes-on with Street Fighter IV ’s iPhone appearance not too long ago via an exclusive early look from GamePro, Capcom just officially released the first video of the game as well as a smattering of new screenshots (all 32 of which have been conveniently compiled by Andriasang ). And while the trailer seen above features the same two fighters (Ken and Ryu) that the last video did, we certainly don’t mind getting another chance to marvel at the uncanny vision of Street Fighter IV being played competitively on iPhones; it’s quite like being drunk in North Korea — something just doesn’t feel right. The trailer also gives a “Coming March 2010″ at the end, so it would seem that we don’t have too much longer before we’ll be able to marvel at the game from the comfort of our own phones
