Over the first half of this fiscal year, Atlus drew in about 378 million yen – or $4.3 million dollars – in operating profit.

We can conjure several solid reasons to purchase the PAL and Europe-bound Batman Arkham Asylum Game of the Year Edition . Foremost is that the package will include some slick 3D glasses, or at least what appears to be slick HD glasses that will work with the edition’s announced TriOviz 3D support.

Rondo of Blood hit the Virtual Console today , and it’s awesome. To have one of the most sought after and critically acclaimed 2D action/platformers ever made for a mere nine bucks seems too good to be true. That’s not an easy act to follow, but if there is any game that has a chance at outshining Rondo , it’s Cave Story .

According to a Big Download report, the expected Battlefield: Bad Company 2 patch did not drop as planned last afternoon for a good reason: it had problems. The band-aid was ripped off after EA DICE discovered “crash bugs,” which is decidedly more unpleasant than having to continually refresh servers and hitting a “join” button. The studio does have new plans to release the now-troubled patch at some point today, Tuesday, which is totally neat because it’s not like we had plans to play Final Fantasy XIII instead of grinding our Engineer

We’ve spent some time with Nexuiz at GDC 2010 and enjoyed what it offered: a downloadable Quake or Unreal Tournament experience without the retro baggage like rough textures or super old-school level and MP design.

So, Demon’s Souls was a surprise win for Atlus, being one of the few games published by that company to sell well in North America. The classic PS3 exclusive was one of 2009’s biggest surprises, and that fact has not escaped Sony’s eye.
