The creator of this side-scrolling interpretation of Team Fortress 2 intended to enter it in a map-modding contest last year but missed the deadline. Steaky may have missed the cut (here’s another top-flight entry in the contest ) but he says he “plan(s) to finish and release a full version in the future.” A quick Google search reveals the guy’s built two maps already , ( plus this one ). I’ve no idea how far along the project is or how it would be implemented, but it is sure fun to look at, and think about what could be.

Whether Ubisoft likes it or not, for many Red Steel 2 will define the potential of Nintendo’s Wii MotionPlus. While the sword and gun action title isn’t the first game to use Wii’s improved motion-sensing add-on, the franchise is inexorably connected to the Wii. The original Red Steel launched in 2006 alongside the Wii.

For five or so years the people at the Marshmallow Fun Company have been making increasingly-sophisticated weaponry that shoots Marshmallows. That Final Fantasy sponsorship of the NBA All-Star weekend came with some strings attached, it seems; namely, that there’d be ads running depicting the game as available on the Xbox 360, with nary a PS3 logo in sight. Reader Christian points us towards this Microsoft-sponsored clip that ran during ESPN’s broadcast, complete with Leona Lewis title song and prominent Xbox 360 brand placement, including mention of the upcoming hardware bundle . This despite the fact the game is also being released on PlayStation 3, and indeed enjoys somewhat of a brand affinity with the platform, the core series having previously been exclusive to Sony consoles since the release of Final Fantasy VII in 1997.
