Organized by Naughty Dog co-lead designer Richard Lemarchand, “GDC Microtalks 2010: Ten Speakers, 200 Slides, Limitless Ideas) accomplished pretty much what it said on the tin. Ten different game designers from drastically different background and areas gave five minute talks aided by automatically advancing slides. Including the likes of Jesse Schell, Ian Bogost, and Suzanne Seggerman, the session was almost overwhelmingly packed full of intelligent stuff, all (or mostly) based around the central theme, “play with us.” I’ve tried my best to summarize the talks, after the jump.

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is looking really sexy, despite the Prince’s mawkish cartoon face. In fact, it’s looking so good that I’m convinced Ubisoft’s one-button Prince of Persia from 2008 was just a sinister marketing scheme, all convoluted to make Forgotten Sands look that much better. This video definitely tells PoP fans what they want to hear — a familiar control scheme, an atmosphere similar to Sands of Time , and classic time-manipulating abilities all work together to make Forgotten Sands look like the game Ubisoft should have released the last time around

I don’t know who the crazy cats at The Tech Game are or how they got a hold of what looks to be the first Modern Warfare 2 map pack. But they did, and Activision has proceeded to yank their original video of the “Stimulus Package” add-on, making us think it’s probably legit.

The Japanese gaming hardware market didn’t do too much movin’ and shakin’ this past week, though the software sales throne was usurped by a new PSP release from Namco Bandai: God Eater . Given the game’s Monster Hunter -esque nature, we’re not surprised at its success — still, we find ourselves perplexed by that title. We did a little research and learned that, yes, gods can be eaten, if prepared properly

In a move to fight piracy, and seemingly in an attempt to cultivate a culture of people who desire to buy their SCEA games new, Sony is bundling a PSN registration voucher for all UMD-based copies of SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 . This afternoon, IGN is reported that this voucher must be redeemed through PSN if players want to take the fight online in the competitive and cooperative components. Users who download the game via PSN will skip the process, as it happens in the background.

Destructoid got to check out Skate 3 last week but seeing as how we brought you a pretty detailed preview already , I’ll just touch on a couple of things that weren’t covered. Other than the new focus on team play online or offline, the other big part of Skate 3 is that you’re playing to form your own brand. The better you do in the game, the more exposure your brand will get and the more boards you’ll sell
